Dom St. Peter Worms
One of three emperor cathedrals
The Cathedral of St. Peter, together with the cathedrals in Mainz and Speyer, is one of the greatest creations of Romanesque church architecture. The origins of Worms Cathedral date back to the early Christian era of late Roman times. From the time of the Franks, the first Bishop of Worms (Berthulf, 614) was handed down, his cathedral was considerably smaller than the present one.
The imposing building is the undisputed main actor of the annual Nibelungen Festival and offers a breathtaking backdrop!
